Richard Douglas, Ph.D. Senior Vice President of Corporate Development Richard Douglas joined Genzyme in 1989. He is responsible for evaluating and acquiring new products, programs and companies for the corporation. Dr. Douglas helps develop growth plans for Genzyme and each of its business units and subsidiaries. Prior to joining Genzyme, Dr. Douglas was director of new product development at Integrated Genetics. He has also served as the company’s manager of protein chemistry research. Dr. Douglas had a post doctoral fellowship at the California Institute of Technology and received his Ph.D. in biochemistry from the University of California, Berkeley. He also has a B.S. from the University of Michigan.
