In 2010, Genzyme was a recipient of the Tech Citizenship award from Mass High Tech, The Journal of New England Technology. The MHT Tech Citizenship award recognizes the region's top technology companies giving back to their communities. In 2010, 23 technology companies from New England were honored for their corporate philanthropy and focus on partnering with local charities.

Academy of Distinguished Entrepreneurs, Babson College
In 2010, Babson College inducted Henri A. Termeer, Chairman and CEO of Genzyme Corporation, into its Academy of Distinguished Entrepreneurs at its "World Stage" event benefiting the advancement of global entrepreneurship. Henri was honored for his extraordinary leadership and contributions on so many fronts--the biotechnology industry, humanitarian assistance, policy issues, and innovation in providing access to health care.
