We have a strong presence in developing countries, where we provide free medicine and help to build sustainable health-care systems.

Genzyme's commitment to patients extends beyond the areas of our medical focus. In an effort to improve global health more broadly, we have formed partnerships that will enable us to advance treatments for neglected diseases such as African sleeping sickness and malaria, which affect developing countries and impede their progress. Genzyme also helps patients impacted by disasters around the world by donating products, supporting the rebuilding of health-care infrastructure, and matching employee donations to relief organizations.
