John Evanosky, Genetic disease patient
Genzyme continues to contribute to the development of newborn screening tests for genetic diseases, including metachromatic leukodystrophy, a progressive metabolic disorder that affects the neurological system. Our hope is to help families like John’s get treatment at the earliest possible point in the disease.

Avery Monday, Fabrazyme patient
Avery is just like many nine-year-olds. He loves animals, video games and sports. A Fabry patient herself, Avery's mother found out he had the disease through testing while pregnant. Avery and his grandfather-who also has Fabry-share an avid interest in raising bearded dragon lizards.

Aimee Alexander, Seprafilm patient

Joan Shey, Thyrogen patient
After undergoing a 1995 thyroidectomy related to thyroid cancer, Joan dealt with the effects of hypothyroidism during annual treatments for metastasies in her lungs. In 1998, Thyrogen changed that, making a major difference in the way she feels. Joan founded the Light of Life Foundation in 1997 to educate patients and promote thyroid cancer awareness.

Dennis Smith, Mozobil patient
Dennis, 66, opted for a stem cell transplant to treat lymphoma after multiple rounds of chemotherapy. But four days of conventional stem cell collection failed to mobilize enough cells. After Mozobil mobilized enough cells in two days, he received a successful transplant in March, 2008.
