Patients who are knowledgeable about their conditions, their treatment options, and the health care industry are better prepared not only to help manage their own health, but to participate in important dialogues with health care professionals, policy makers, and the general public. But because Genzyme focuses on rare diseases, unmet medical needs, and innovative treatment approaches, it's not always easy for the patients we serve to find the information they need. In some cases, these diseases are so rare that there are little or no reliable resources available.
To fill those gaps, Genzyme produces educational materials on a variety of topics, both in print and online. The pages below address topics relevant across many patient groups. Our individual disease and product websites provide additional details, plus helpful tools such as physician and treatment center locators.
In addition, we have an on-staff Medical Information group available to answer specific medical questions about our products and the conditions we treat. Medical Information can be reached at 800-745-4447, option 2.
